DESCRIPTION
A superb extra‑large cabinet specimen of rare tabular Galena from the historic Osikovo deposit, Septemvri Mine, Madan Municipality, Bulgaria. Mined over 40 years ago, this piece remained in the personal collection of its discoverer, Sevdalin Bashev, until acquired in late 2025.
The Galena forms bright, silvery‑metallic tabular crystals up to 2 cm, each selectively coated with fine Quartz druzy, clearly showing the specimen’s original pocket orientation. A quartz‑covered calcite crown, brassy pyrite outcrops, and a sparkling sphalerite matrix complete the piece, giving it exceptional visual presence and making it a standout addition to any advanced collection.
This specimen was featured on Mindat.org, highlighting its significance and provenance.
